A refurbishment of Wangaratta Library is currently taking place, meaning slight disruptions for library users.
Wangaratta Library has been open at the Docker Street location since 2007 and is currently undergoing refurbishment including an update of décor to ensure it remains a welcoming community building.
Changes include a new colour scheme, replacement of the carpet through the entire building and new furniture.
Painting works have already been completed. Currently the carpet on the main floor of the library is being replaced and people may experience some inconvenience caused by limited access to certain areas of the library over the next few months. Please talk to staff who will be able to assist you in navigating around the works.
Library Coordinator Loueen Twyford said the library is still open for business, and encouraged community members to come along and check out the new colour scheme and works as they take place.
“A number of areas within the library will be transformed including meeting rooms and the local history room,” she said.
“The children’s area will spark imagination in people of all ages and the whole library will be revitalised with new comfortable furniture, while maintaining the friendly and relaxed environment many people have come to love”.
There is always much to see and explore at Wangaratta Library - please come and check it out for yourself!
