Gardens need a spring clean too
Whether you’re cutting back or planting new, gardens need a spring clean too- which is why Council is offering free green waste disposal in November!
Residents can dispose of their green waste at no charge throughout the month at any of the Rural City of Wangaratta transfer stations.
Council’s Director Infrastructure Services, Alan Clark, said the service is particularly important this year due to low winter rainfall and increased fire risk this summer.
“With dry summer conditions forecast across the municipality, we encourage residents to keep grassed areas well maintained and remove any excess vegetation including branches, dead trees and any other woody material around their homes,” he said.
Sites will be supervised and residents are reminded to bring green waste only. Garden waste, leaf litter and woody material are accepted.
