Glow with the flow at Down by The River
Riverside Square will glow in the dark for this September’s Down by the River.
The free community event will be held in Faithfull Street and the Ovens Riverside Precinct on 7 September 2018 between 4 - 9pm, featuring live music and the best local food, wine and beer on offer.
Musical performances are sure to delight, kicking off with Morgan Bain, who will entertain with his funky but soulful-style. Then, get ready to dance the night away with popular Melbourne band That Gold Street Sound.
The Riverside Square will be host to a Kids Zone, where children of all ages can revel in everything that glows in the dark, including live creation murals, art activities, dance lessons, mini golf and face painting from 4-6pm.
For young people aged between 12-18 Councils Freeza crew, Creative Youth, will take over Victoria Parade between 6-9pm. The exclusive area will feature DJs and a live performance from local band Empire.
Local businesses Café The PreVue, Rinaldo’s, Lei Lani and the Precinct are sponsoring the event and along with other select local food vendors - will fill Faithfull Street with a vast array of food and drink options to cater to all tastes.
At 7.30pm, when the lights go down, the Riverside Square will transform into a show stopping spectacular. Dazzling LED lighting will showcase the incredible works of art created by community members throughout the evening – with support from GANEAA and Pangerang Community House artists.
