2022 Australia Day Nominations Now Open

Don’t miss your chance to nominate those who make a difference in the community.

Nominations are open for the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Australia Day Awards.

There are so many people and organisations in our community that go above and beyond to make Wangaratta special. This is your chance to thank them. If you know an outstanding volunteer, community group, teacher, scientist, doctor, anyone who inspires you, take the time to nominate them for the 2022 Australia Day awards.

We also have a very unique and special opportunity for the Citizen of the Year to be invited to be part of the Marmungun Rock Ceremony during Reconciliation Week in 2022, hosted by the Dirrawarra network and which Council is extremely honoured to be part of.

Nominations are open for awards in the following categories: 

  • Citizen of the Year,
  • Young Citizen of the Year,
  • Community Event or Project of the of the Year

Recipients will be presented with their awards at the 2022 Australia Day celebrations held across the municipality. Nominations close at 5pm on Friday 5 November 2021.
