Disposing of household chemicals

Household chemicals can be dangerous – they can harm your family and your pets, add extra fuel to a house fire, release toxic fumes and pollute the environment for future generations.

There are different ways you can dispose of your chemical waste depending on their type.

Detox Your Home annual event

Detox your Home an annual event which provides a safe, free and easy way to dispose of toxic household chemicals without harming your health or the environment. Chemicals accepted are home, garage, garden and pool items such as:

  • Fertilisers
  • Herbicides
  • Pool chemicals.

The collected items are recycled for recovery and diverted from landfill.
