Railway Precinct Project

  • Project typeRoad closure
  • Completion Date30 April 2021

Works for the Railway Precinct Upgrade Project are almost complete, in Docker, Cusack and Norton Streets. All of the streets are fully opened outside of working hours, and only minor impacts being experienced as off road construction activities are completed.

Construction is still occurring on the southern (library) side of Docker Street, with the construction of driveways, pathways, garden beds, seating and foot bridges occurring. Landscaping will also need to be completed. Minor landscaping activities are also in progress in Norton Street, as is the painting of the water tower, with some traffic impacts.

  • The footpath on the northern (Quest) side of Docker Street has been fully completed, and pedestrians are encouraged to utilise this side of the street to access the precinct. Pedestrian access is available along parts of the southern side for facilities and businesses, though this may not be available for the full length and conditions may change without much notice.
  • Car parking will be intermittingly disrupted in Docker Street as works are completed.

Traffic controllers are present on the site at all times during working hours to help you get safely through the site and to ensure the safety of workers. Please obey their directions as well as abide by any signs or barriers.

Council appreciates the patience of those that have been impacted by these significant works.
