Closure of Rowan Street Pedestrian Underpass Ramp

Drainage repair works will take place in the vicinity of the Rowan Street Pedestrian Underpass (Rowan Street Service Roadside) in March 2025. The existing pedestrian bridge ramp will need to be removed to undertake these improvement works.

 

Public access will not be available during the period of works on either of the two pedestrian/cyclist bridges over Rowan Street Underpass. The pedestrian bridge on the west side will reopen after the works are complete however the bridge on the city side will not reopen until the ramp is reinstated in the weeks following. During the period of works Pedestrians and cyclists will need to use alternative routes such as the underpass pedestrian access in Templeton Street or the Pedestrian Bridge over Rail Lines accessible from Gray Street or Norton Street.

 

UPDATE AS OF 20 MARCH 2025 

Following concrete works this morning, the public will now have access to the underpass walkway and the pedestrian overpass across Rowan Street earlier than scheduled.

We anticipate access to the pedestrian bridge to be reopened mid-day 20 March 2025.
