In 2018 the Rural City of Wangaratta adopted the 2018-2023 Events & Attraction Strategy. This strategy has been the guiding document for the events department during this time. The actions within have been instrumental in formalising event funding for the purpose of attracting events to Wangaratta and establishing policies and procedures for the department and essential operations.
The 2018-23 Strategy has observed outstanding results, it has activated and enabled an annual curated events program that services the needs of the community as well as attracting large events to the region and achieved a completion of actions rate of 80%.
We are now revisiting the events landscape, our community and aiming to reset the actions and priorities for the coming five years (2024-2029) and we need your help! We want to know what you want to see, or what you have seen, what makes Wangaratta special and what is our niche to engage our community and attract tourism to our city.
There are drop-in sessions scheduled for the below dates and times;

Tuesday 3 October, 5.00pm-6.30pm @ Wangaratta Performing Arts & Convention Centre
Tuesday 17 October, 3.00pm-5.00pm @ Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre
Monday 23 October, 10.00am-11.30am @ Wangaratta Sports & Aquatic Centre
