Primary prevention of violence against women

Rural City of Wangaratta is currently funded to facilitate the primary prevention of violence against women in bushfire affected areas.  Primary prevention efforts are targeted to reach everyone in our community, with the aim of addressing the underlying causes of violence against women and preventing violence against women before it starts.

Emerging Leaders Summit - Scholarship

The Emerging Leaders Summit is a 4-day personal leadership development program aimed at young people aged 18-25.

The Rural City of Wangaratta have pledged to cover participant costs for 2 young emerging community leaders with an interest in supporting our community to prevent violence against women and children.

This means participation in this opportunity (normally $1,200) will be absolutely free for 2 young people who want to support positive change within our community.

One funded place is currently available for the March Summit (11 - 14 March) with one additional fully funded place available for the April Summit (28 April - 1 May 2022).

Scholarship applications are open here and close at 5pm on 14 February 2022.
