Fire season is creeping up on us. Now is the time to get your properties ready for the season. One of the best ways to prepare your property for fire season is removing fuel and vegetation. This is important for residential homes, and commercial and industrial allotments.

If you live in an area prone to bush or grassfires, you should have a Bushfire Survival Plan. Your plan should include details of the risk posed by fire to your property and information on leaving early on days of high fire danger. CFA provide advice on developing a suitable Bushfire Survival Plan. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to face other emergencies such as fires, storms, heat and flooding. It is important everyone is prepared to respond to these emergencies in a COVIDSafe way.

Victorians who need to travel to carry out summer fire preparation activities can now apply to council for permission to travel to their property within the rural city to undertake fire and emergency preparedness activities. To apply for permission, please complete the form located on our website.
