One day soon the streets of Wangaratta will be filled with the sounds of live music as buskers vie the chance to win $500 worth of prizes.
Originally planned to take place as part of the International Make Music Day later this month, the Battle of the Buskers event is currently in planning as the community awaits the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions.
In the meantime the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Events team is calling for buskers to register for the event.
“So dust off your guitars, start singing in the shower and get practicing,” Council’s Events Team Leader Kelly Timms said.
“We are after brave individuals, duos and trios to join the competition.
“As much as we are hoping to find some amazing talents, there is also room for those who want to perform for the adventure of a new experience.
“While we are awaiting confirmation of the event date if you are keen to be participate, fill out the expression of interest form via Councils Website.
“We love when the CBD is alive with music, and this is a great chance to celebrate music in our city.
“The community will get to vote when the time comes, so we can all be involved.”
