Rural City of Wangaratta

The Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail provides over 100 km of bitumen sealed trail which links Wangaratta with Beechworth, Myrtleford and Bright. 

Originally a railway line, the rail bed has been converted to a bitumen trail suitable for cycling enthusiasts, wheelchair persons, hikers and walkers to experience the spectacular scenery and safety that the trail provides.  A gentle gradient makes the trail suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. 

The rail trail was developed with the collaborative efforts of the councils and communities of the Rural City of Wangaratta, Indigo Shire and Alpine Shire.
