The Rural City of Wangaratta Council coordinates a fantastic Youth Council program. By becoming a member of the Youth Council, young people will develop leadership skills, become a voice for other young people in the community and be involved in many youth and community events.

The Rural City of Wangaratta’s Youth Council are promoting the Wangaratta Youth Card. The Youth Card provides young people with contact details for local youth service providers in areas such as mental health, homelessness, drugs and alcohol.

This is a new and exciting state wide (a VicRoads initiative funded by TAC) community based volunteer mentor program, designed to provide access for young learner drivers between the ages of 16 to 21 who are unable to achieve mandatory 120 hours due to a variety of circumstances such as lack of vehicle access, family support, homelessness or economic disadvantage.
