Sustainability Presentations

In 2012, the Eco Living project including the Eco Living Education Trailer, a mobile and interactive display of what can be done in your own home to make it more sustainable, was launched.

The trailer will initially focus on touring the rural townships of the Rural City of Wangaratta to provide access to sustainability information. The Eco Living Trailer associates with the Eco Living Centre (HP Barr Reserve Community Centre, Wangaratta).

The Eco Living trailer includes:

  • A solar power stand-alone energy system
  • Solar energy meter of solar gain and power usage
  • Demonstrations of solar gadgets
  • Ideas on ways to insulate and draft proof your home
  • Examples of efficient lighting options for the home
  • Shower head water flow comparisons
  • Interactive displays for different age groups
  • Information on other renewable energy systems
  • BBQ for community events and gatherings
  • Access to the internet and Council’s online Sustainable Living Guide
  • Demonstration and information films/videos
  • Plenty of hand out information regarding all areas of household sustainability.
