More than 350 ideas for Our Road Map

More than 350 ideas have been contributed to the first round of consultation for Our Road Map, also known as the Rural City of Wangaratta’s Council Plan 2017-2021.

Community members raised the ideas from 15 February to 15 March 2017 by visiting Wangaratta Library and online through OurSay.

Roads, footpaths, libraries, art, bike tracks and aquatic facilities were some of the main themes touched on in the consultation.

Mayor Ken Clarke said he wanted to thank all those who took the opportunity to have their say.

“To have more than 350 ideas is a fantastic result and shows our community is passionate about the future of this municipality,” he said.

“All ideas will be presented to Councillors, before a Discussion Paper is released in April, followed by the Draft Council Plan in May.

“Both of these stages will involve more community consultation so I encourage those who’ve contributed ideas to keep an eye out for more opportunities to get involved in the process.”
