Great Alpine Road upgrade - Community Feedback Sessions

The Federal and State Governments have announced an upgrade of the Great Alpine Road from Bruthen in East Gippsland to Wangaratta in North East Victoria.

Funding of $18 million has been allocated for 'betterment' or improvement works (not maintenance) on this important freight and tourism route. $10 million will be invetsed on the section of road from Bruthen to to just east of Mt Hotham, while $8 million has been allocated to upgrade the route from east of Mt Hotham to Wangaratta.

Vicroads is seeking feedback from the community to identify issues of concern along this route. Inout from the community will be used to compile a list of proposed works to be considered under the upgrade program.

A community feedback session will be held at Wangaratta Library on Wednesday 10 May from 3pm to 8pm.
