Weather
The big game between Essendon and St Kilda at Wangaratta on Saturday 3 March 2012 is DEFINITELY ON!!!!
The weather is looking good! The ground is in great condition. ALL SYSTEMS GO!

- Parking and road accessibility is currently being explored.
- The Rural City of Wangaratta are in communications with the AFL and will regularly update accordingly.

TICKET sales for the Round 2 NAB Cup match between Essendon and St Kilda at the Wangaratta Showgrounds have exceeded all expectations.
"Being allocated two great teams was a bonus for Wangaratta – having sold 11,000 tickets is the icing on the cake" said Councillor Roberto Paino, Mayor of the Rural City of Wangaratta.
"This is a best outcome we could have hoped for. We are thrilled that so many people will be showing their support on Saturday".
The Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre has been inundated with people scrambling for tickets over the last couple of days, with both Ticketmaster and the Performing Arts Centre selling out of their allotments.
Please note: No tickets will be available for purchase at the gate on game day.
Official opening of the Wangaratta Showgrounds redevelopment
The official opening of the Wangaratta Showgrounds redevelopment will coincide with the game, which is a fitting debut event for the new facilities.
Park-and-ride services
Park-and-ride services will be available on game day from 4:00pm with buses running from (download a map below):
- Ford Street Bus Stop, Wangaratta CBD;
- Avian Park Race Track, Newman Street; and
- Olympic Pool, Swan Street, with the possibility of more bus points being announced as ticket sales continue.
Park and ride bus services are FREE with the display of your match ticket.
We encourage as many people as possible to take advantage of the park-and-ride services, which are FREE with your pre-purchased ticket to the game.
The park-and-ride services will ease congestion in the car parks surrounding the Showgrounds and provide a smoother departure after the final siren.

Parking will be available at the Rodeo Grounds, HP Barr Reserve and surrounds
Tickets
- Wangaratta Performing Arts Box Office, 33-37 Ford Street Wangaratta, will be open for ticket collection only. Opening hours:
- Monday - Friday - 10.00am – 4.00pm
- Saturday - 9.00am – 12.00noon
- Ticketmaster tickets can be collected at the Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre
- Remaining tickets, not collected by 12noon, will be available for collection from the Wangaratta Showgrounds, GATE 1, Cnr Green & Gray Street from 4:00pm

Timing
- Gates open at 4.00pm
- Wangaratta Interleague Gift will be run from 5.00pm
- Official opening of the Showgrounds Redevelopment at 6.30pm
- Main game to commence at 7.00pm
Seating
- No reserved seating
- Patrons are encouraged to bring their own chairs
- No additional seating will be installed
- The cycle track is seating room only for those who BYO chairs
Catering
- Catering around the ground on the day will be supplied by the Wangaratta Magpies and Rovers (food, alcohol, drinks and coffee available)
- Full strength, mid strength and light beer will be available
- No glass can be bought into the ground
- Strictly no BYO
Restrictions
- It is a condition of entry that you will present any bags, containers and/or equipment to security staff for inspection
- No pets
- No access onto the playing surface
Other
- Merchandise and records will be available from inside the grounds
- First Aid services will be available
- In the case of an extreme weather event the game may be cancelled, advance notification will be given where possible
