There are a number of options for making payments to Council.
Internet
Payment can be made via the internet.
Click on this Make Payment link which will take you straight to the Macquarie Bank DEFT site.
BPAY
- Contact your participating bank, credit union, or building society to make payment directly from your cheque or savings account.
- You will be required to enter the Biller Code and BPAY reference number as detailed on the front of your notice.
Direct Debit
Direct debit facilities are available for the payment of rates and general Council invoices. To use this option please download the Direct Debit Request form and Direct Debit Agreement below.Â
Please pay your pet registrations:
- In person at any Post Office (present the notice intact) or at the Wangaratta Government Centre
- By Mail, Bpay, or Internet - see back of renewal notice

- Registration is required for payments from cheque or savings accounts.

Credit Card
- Please call 1300 301 090 to make your payment using your credit card.
- Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa cards may be used.

Wangaratta Government Centre
Payment at Council's offices may be made by:
- cash
- cheque
- money order
- credit card (Bankcard, Mastercard, Visa)
- EFTPOS
Mailing Your Payment
Detach payment slip and mail with payment to Deft Payment Systems, GPO Box 2174T, Melbourne Vic 3001
- Please make cheques payable to 'Wangaratta Rural City Council'.
- Please note that receipts will not be issued for mailed payments.
In Person
Payments may be made at any Australia Post Office, Hume Building Society (Wangaratta Branch) or WAW Credit Union (Wangaratta Branch) by presenting your rate notice intact with your payment.
