Councillors
The fifth Council of the Wangaratta Rural City Council was elected in November 2008, with seven Councillors elected for a four year term. Cr. Anthony Griffiths was elected Mayor of the Wangaratta Rural City Council on 2 December 2010 for a twelve month term.
Elected Councillors are responsible for setting policy and providing vision and strategic direction to the organisation.

Cr. Roberto Paino was elected to the Wangaratta Rural City Council in 2003. He was elected Mayor on 1 December 2011 for a twelve month term. He also holds the Governance portfolio.
