Part Time Temporary (12 months)

Band 4 - $28.53

The Wangaratta Visitor Information Centre is staffed by a dedicated and enthusiastic group of staff and volunteers and we are looking for a similar minded person to join our vibrant team on a temporary basis. This role is predominantly front-of-house, dealing with visitor enquiries and administration duties as directed by the Events and Attractions Coordinator.

The key requirements of the position include experience in the day to day operations and functions of running a visitor information centre or relevant business, an ability to gain cooperation and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve set goals and the ability to work with community and business stakeholders. It goes without saying that knowledge of the North East and its various tourist attractions, excellent customer services skills both face-to-face and over the phone, as well as being able to provide general information about the Rural City of Wangaratta are crucial to this role.

Experience in retail operations as well as the ability to handle money and EFTPOS machines and bank reconciling a till at the end of each day is needed. The successful applicant will be responsible opening and closing the centre and will work to a roster. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is also required. Some weekend and after hours work may be required.

A detailed Position Description (PD) is available below, from the reception counter at the Wangaratta Government Centre, or from the People & Culture Unit by phoning 03 5722 0888.
