On behalf of the community of the Rural City of Wangaratta, I would like to welcome you to our municipality.  We are delighted and honoured that you have chosen to make the Rural City of Wangaratta your home. 

The Rural City of Wangaratta has more than 27,100 residents, many of whom were not born here but moved here to enjoy the lifestyle, climate, employment opportunities, and natural attractions for which north east Victoria is renowned.

Cultural diversity has existed in our region for generations and has done much to shape the lifestyle we currently enjoy.  Our community has proven to offer a safe and tolerant environment which values multiculturalism and has the enthusiasm, expertise and skills to work in partnership with government and other relevant bodies to generate economic, social and cultural benefits for new residents.
