Livestock on Roads

With prior permisiion, Council allows the grazing of livestock on roadsides. A number of farmers in the Rural City of Wangaratta also drove livestock at various parts of the year. 

Stock Crossing

Motorists need to watch out for the "STOP" and "GIVE WAY TO STOCK" signs that will be displayed by farmers when they have stock on roads. Read more

Grazing of Livestock on Roadsides

Council allows the grazing of livestock on roadsides however, residents are required to make an application prior to grazing to ensure appropriate permission is received if the road is declared a VicRoads road and also to ensure Council's Roadside Management Strategy is implemented by reducing the spread of noxious weeds and protecting signicicant habitats. Droving of Livestock

A number of farmers in the Rural City of Wangaratta drove livestock at various parts of the year. Residents are urged to contact Council prior to droving livestock to ensure the area they are wanting to drove is suitable. Read more
